A better future for children!

Not every child is privileged enough to get his basic right to education. Parents and caregivers of children living in lower socioeconomic conditions are often unable to ensure that their children go to school. The children then miss out on the very stepping stone towards a better and more resilient future.

A need in Patna, India.

Patna, the capital city of Bihar, India is a home to several thousands of such children. Rapid urbanization and influx of the poorest landless rural population is leading to proliferation of urban slums. Samir and his band of young friends have witnessed such children being sucked into the vortex of several vagaries of life; continuing poverty, malnutrition, addiction to alcohol and narcotics, early marriages of girls (often during teen ages), abuse and a general deprivation of childhood.

An opportunity for children to go school and get quality education is the primary panacea to many social misfortunes. 

The "School Bheje Hum Abhiyaan" is a movement founded by Samir and his friends on this understanding combined with a feeling of strong compassion for underprivileged children and a determination to see their lives change for the better.

 

More children at school!

What began in 2012 with six children, who came from such situations and are now consistently going to school, is now already expanding and benefiting 34 children. 

These children are being sent to schools that have regular teachers, give a personalized attention and quality education to each child. The "School Bheje Abhiyaan" ensures that the costs related to admission and regular school fees are met and also provides for additional needs such as books, uniforms, bags, shoes and special classes. 

The special classes held in the evenings are for either catching up (for lost years without education) or simply regain their lost childhood (through opportunities to play and learn values for life).

 How can you partner with us?

"School Bheje Hum Abhiyaan" is Hindi for "We will send children to school"...be a part of the movement with a small investment for a better future of under privileged children. Every earnest contribution counts. We would be happy to partner with you through contributions of Rupees 100 or Rs 500 (one time, regular, periodic as you are led) which will go towards the school fees, uniforms and books of children. You could also sponsor a child for Rs 300/- every month. We would be happy to share the details of the child you are sponsoring as well as reports of their periodic progress. If you are in Patna we could have someone visit you for the contribution and progress reports; if outside Patna we could send you monthly reminders and periodic reports.

Who We Are

Samir and friends are a group of young men and women of Patna who believe that good education is a stepping stone for a child’s secure future. They care about underprivileged children residing in slums close to where Samir and his friends live.

Samir is also a talented singer, a music teacher in Fountain Music Academy, Patna and part of the Elohim Radiant Trust, which undertakes social and transformational projects.
