To Our Aji : A Tribute

A Tribute to our Aji, written by my cousin:  a keep sake for this blog!

Will forever miss that robust, resplendent, effervescent strength of a woman that I used to call my Aji. The one with the perfect blend of folklore and superstition - practicality and reason. The one who taught us to pick up the broken pieces and start again, to love life and to give meaning to others' lives, to strive to be a woman in every sense of the word rather than a 'woe- man', to relish the food on our plates and the wine in our glasses for they are the fruits of our labour, and to always be friends with your Maths to keep the mind sharp, even at the ripe age of 87!
Will deeply miss her and still rue that sunny afternoon when I happened to refuse that half a bottle of beer she said she'd lovingly kept just for me....
Cheers to a life well lived Aji. Hope you've met your dear son, my dad, and your long lost husband. Heaven let your light shine down
