Dead man walking

Image
Shaped by values and trends of the world; Led by the stealer, killer, destroyer, But most, in pursuit of my own pride and pleasure , I have walked but as a dead man walking. For Your death and rising up, Has killed the sentenced man, And now with a life redeemed I hope to walk like no man can. My walk today is shaped, by the Master’s workmanship; In unity and purpose, in wisdom, love and light, Now, conscious of the surrounding warfare, And like my choice in sides, let me walk with Your companionship With hope and joy and in stride. and a song to go with it too...I really liked this song!! Cheers Josh Groban and thanks!

I thirst

Image
hanging on a cursed tree, pierced brow and broken body, ripped and torn your flesh and deeply bleeding! Do I hear You uttering Just these words that You are feeling thirsty? was it many years ago, travelling  by the desert road, you stopped by the well just feeling very thirsty! and i was there you knew me, my life was spent completely, yet You asked me for the water saying "give me"! little had I to give to You, while you had Your life to give me, water living flowed on from You profusely! now I see You on the cross, my shame and sorrow tie You and I know that You die instead of me! searching atlast I have found You, there's an empty tomb beside me I know You've risen into glory!

Flight

This poem was written during one of the lowest periods in my career. While during my initial working years I was given the oppurtunity to fly high, the last few years on that job proved particularly difficult. At that time, I felt as if I was hurtling down from the skies and my wings were badly broken. It was during this crises that I realised what it is to hold God's hand and rely on Him for the future, no matter how difficult the present. As I reflect on those years, I am thankful to God for having not only restored me but given me stronger wings to soar higher! Give me wings and let me fly, Far and unfettered in the boundless sky; And up above from the crisp of blue, Give me sight to look below, To see the pattern the grand earth forms, Its rims and borders spread like flowing gowns. Beyond my sight, O Lord, I ask, Give me vision to see beyond The humdrum of my daily dues, The goals to pursue and the dreams to choose. But most, my God, I would from you take, Your jo...

by my side

Image
Sea-green, the colour of your dress that day, When coyly you looked at me, in hope and joy Knowing we had a long way to go together. Yellow, like the first mangoes we shared In our new house, in the new town, When we had nothing else to Cook or eat! White, like our first Christmas No snow, but all would turn Their eyes to look at you, in your glorious white And I would be proud to have you beside! Red, like the colour of our first-born And like the color of the blood you lost Almost to go away and leave me alone. Tonight, every colour reminds me of you, And the times we have spent together, And I am glad I have you always, By my side.
