RECOVER-Bihar. Reaching COVID 19 vaccine to the last mile unreached people
There is a proverbial saying in my language about finishing well; "the elephant is out but the tail is stuck!". Often many projects, work, relationships, which begin with a bang, end with a whimper.
COVID-19, ravaged our cities, towns, villages and shook us up for a good two years by overhauling our lives as we knew it. Almost all of us lost someone dear. Many had interruptions in their jobs, schools, businesses.
As vaccines came into the scene the scenario began to change. Appreciable was the government's efforts to put in much of its resources and energy towards this work. For a good year and a half, the vaccination efforts became the cynosure of all health interventions in the country. Certainly a work well done!
Despite that, the last mile posed a challenge, as health resources had to be reallocated to resume routine work. That was where a little bit of help that the team could offer, meant much to the people who were still unreached!
Here is the story and our learning from project "RECOVER-Bihar"......
