Being Happy

Image
Being happy is a state of the mind..... but what does it take to reach this state? May be a song, may be kind words, may be a nice surprise, or , May be  just, keeping on course, running the race, and living your life, with every  small moment, made most of! Wish you happiness with this song!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOWDb2TBYDg

a simple poem

I came across this simple poem and liked it immediately. So here it is! Arrow and the Song, The I shot an arrow into the air, It fell to earth, I knew not where; For, so swiftly it flew, the sight Could not follow it in its flight. I breathed a song into the air, It fell to earth, I knew not where; For who has sight so keen and strong, That it can follow the flight of song? Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke; And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.  Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Orccha: besides the river Betwa

A small nondescript town with wonderful old monuments and temples...Orrcha ...nearby its more famous sister town of Jhansi...worth a lazy-day long visit:

Jhansi: a poem and a monument

Image
My recent travel to Jhansi  took me to a monument with a brush of poetry; and literally at that. How often do you find a poem written at the very entry step of an old monument. Written about the valiant queen Rani Lakhmi Bai of Jhansi, the fort there reminiscences her short lifetime (died at 29 fighting on a horseback) of valor and bravery. Here are pictures of the poem and the fort itself. Entrance Jhansi fort the poem close up Poem about Queen Lakshmibai a temple in the fort a view of the city from the fort the high point of the story the height where the jump took place
