Tangerine evenings!

Image
When you make a drink for yourself after a long day, and it inspires poetry!! It's sour with a spark! It takes pleasure in the making: with a fizz and a mint, a bit shaken and bit stirred! It's salt-peppered and bitter-sweet, It's chilled and its bites, It's everything about what's not right! It's never the same, but just like before, every time a fresh yet with a twist in the tale. It's lip-smacking, It's delightful, It's my tasteful pleasure, It's you. My bitter-sweet-sour Tangerine drink!!!! below are three pictures that describe the mood of the day!

Of mountains and valleys; of sunshine and storms.

The vast expanse of life and landscape, in a span of an October week in and around Darjeeling.  From bright sunshine, glorious mountains, and mesmerizing dusks to incessant rain and thunderstorms. From belated blessings to the newlyweds, family gatherings, still working reluctantly during vacations to visits to families who lost their loved ones to COVID 19.  A memorable week indeed..with a few photographs to share.....

Ahavah; Much Loved-Part 1

This time, I came across a different love letter. At a time when love was growing colder; when just too many other things kept crowding my mind-space and when just a flurry of perceived unmet expectations seemed to be dampening my spirit. The writer of the letter wasn’t the one who penned it. What I knew assuredly, was that the letter was meant for me. A physician, a researcher, a historian; someone with an eye for details, ear for patient listening, and a pen that had the flair for the language of the day. The contents of the letter had a mysterious ability to stir my deepest emotions, placate my part-weary-part-disturbed thoughts, and calm me with a peace that passes understanding. As I read it, it was as if an internal storm had been stilled, as if a gentle rain had caressed my hardened self. As I read it, it was like a lullab...

Patna-Scapes

Image
The many months of the COVID 19 pandemic had kept me cooped up and cloistered in my home-cum-office. It was only when the office re-opened that I realized just how much my waistline had expanded! None of my trousers fit any longer, and the trail-room reflections of my beleaguered belly have not at all been kind!  For the last few mornings, I have started my new venture to discover the walking -trails in my city Patna, with the hope that this will help me find a fitter newer myself. While that hope will take time for realization, and will depend on my resolve and consistency; there certainly are delightful perks of the morning walks themselves. While the days have alternated between walks along the river Ganga, with the fresh morning river breeze and the trail within the well-wooded area of Patna biodiversity park (better known as the zoo!!); the real treat has been the visual delight that nature provides. Here I am, unable to write any longer but in a hurry to share with you the Pa...
