Darkness

"It is good that I have been afflicted, That I may learn your statutes" Psalm 119:71 Oswald chamber's "My utmost for the highest" is my favourite devotional. I am going three years straight with it. The reading on Valentine's day came in at an oppurtune moment, just after I recieved some very bad news. It meant all my planning for the past few months had come to nothing. It was like being thrust to darkness again. http://www.heartlight.org/cgi-shl/my_utmost/utm.cgi?0214 But like pain (read "the gift of pain" PaulBrand , Philip Yancey), even darkness has its purposes. While it is human nature to be impatient, God knows the best times for the plans and purposes He has in our lives. The wedding itself took place in the outdoors, with the backdrop of nature providing a wonderful scene. I once again looked to the surrounding hills and the heavens and realised that He who made them, cares about me. Catch the music as they fade, for it's seasons in the seranade. Like the painter of the open sky, planting stars and clouds up high. He knows what's due and when it is, a Master at plans and purposes. The fruits appear and ripen in time, In due seasons of yours and mine. and as a child in wonder land I see all things are wor...
